How To Use Dynamic Description To Boost Traffic From Search Engines

seo optimization tutorials 101helper blogger

Post description and blog description are very important, not because it tells visitors about your blog or post content because nobody reads it, I am talking about me, I don't read description of a site... Don't know about you :P . To me blog or post description both are just a way to show posts and blog on search engines. Because I use keywords in description so that search engines show my blog when someone types a relevant keyword which is present in my description.

But what if you are using best keywords and still you get only fewer views or no views from search engines? if its happening with you then it means that the description that you are using is not having keywords which visitors are searching, so you need to find these keywords and replace them with existing ones.

One best way that you can use to find best keywods for your content is to use Google Trends. You can guess keywords too, which you think vistors can use to search but accurate keywords are those which you will find in Google Trends.

Another way to find best keywords is to find similar sites to your site which have good traffic and grab the keywords that they are using and put them in your site. It will not cause a copyright issue.

So Dynamic Description is description that is variable and changes according yo demand. For example I have post about blogger templates and I created it in 2016 and in description I wrote "best blogger templates 2016" and now its 2017 and the visitors are searching for "best blogger templates 2017" now I may get my blog indexed in 3rd or 4th page of search engine results but there are more changes that other sites having 2017 In there description will get indexed on first page. So I need to update my description to get my blog indexed on the first page.

You have to change your blog or post description frequently to get + positive results. So dynamic description is a way to increase yraffic from search engines. And if you get traffic from search engines, it means you are a successful blogger!

One last thing that I am going to tell you in this post is that if you change description again and again, you will need to wait for atleast 1 week to let search engines crawl your site and update the description. Which will definitely take alot of time  because you will not get the best results from first changes but you might need to change description several times until you get some + positive results. So I brought a simple solution for this, now you don't have to wait for a week but you can set a time after which search engine robots will recrawl your site.

So you can change, watch results and see if its improving your traffic or not.

The solution for fast crawling is a meta tag mentioned below. You need to put it in your blog's template below <head> and set the time after which robots will crawl your site again.

<meta name="revisit-after" content="1 days">

Remember that too much crawling of a site is not good so you need to change your description between given time and look for + positive results. After getting more traffic remove the meta tag.

How To Stop Country-Specific Redircetion In Blogger

stop country specific redirection in blogger - 101helper

Google often updates blogger and always adds something new, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad, for example recently Google added "Featured posts widget" in blogger that many people liked and also added HTTPS feature that lets you enable HTTPS so browsers can consider your custom domain safe and secure. But some updates in blogger aren't good and one of them is country-specific redirection of blogspot e.g if you open 101Helper in India you will be redirected to 101helper.blogspot.in similarly in UK it will be redirected to 101helper.blogspot.co.uk which affects your blog in following ways:

5 Reasons To Stop Country Specific Redirection In Blogger:

1 - Affects On Performance: The first affect of country-specific redirection is on site performance, it slows down your blog because it takes time to redirect to country specific domain e.g in, fr, jp, uk, id etc

2 - Ads And Gadgets: Some ads are also affected by specific country redirection for example Revenuehits ads disappear when blogspot blog is redirect to a country's specific domain it may also happen in case of Adsense and your earnings can decrease. Another problem is some gadgets like web page translator stops working when a blog is redirected, it may happen with other gadgets too.

3 - Seo: Your backlinks gets divided because of different domains so you need to do more efforts to create backlinks for each country e.g blogspot.in backlinks, blogspot.co.uk backlinks etc. So its better to redirect your blog to top level domain that is dot com so you don't need extra work and efforts, you just have to concentrate on dot com.

4 - Socail Media Shares: Just like backlinks are divided because of country-specific redirection, social media shares are also affected because when a post of your blog is shared on......for example 10 times on Facebook from uk domain(yourblog.blogspot.co.uk) now when you visit yourblog.blogspot.com you will see zero Facebook shares so post shares are also divided.

5 - Crawling And Indexing: Some webmaster tools like Yandex show an error while indexing your blog, after submitting sitemap yandex show mirror site detected error it could be blogspot.in or blogspot.co.uk or other so your site isn't indexed.

So these errors emphasize to redirect all domains to the top level domain(.com). It will solve ads and gadgets loading problem, seo problem, crawling and indexing problems and improve your blog performance.

How To Add Separate Description For Every Page In Blogger

how to add separate descripiton to each post in blogger

After publishing many posts about seo I am back with a new one. This post is about adding a separate description to each page in blogger. You might be thinking of what do I mean by separate description, if it is so then let me explain it.

Why Do I Add A Separate Description To Each Of My Pages?

Let me tell you its benefits first before I explain why is it important to add a separate description for each page. You will realise the importance of a separate description by reading its benefits.
  • The first benefit of adding a separate description to each page is it lets you to get maximum results from search engines because the description you add to a page contains long tail keywords and hence when someone search something similar to your keywords they see your blog in search results.
  • Second benefit of adding a separate description to each page is it helps you to fix duplicate description errors in webmaster tools specially in Bing webmaster tools.
  • As long keywords are used in description therefore it increases the relevancy of your content with your keywords which is good for seo.

All the above benefits makes it important to have a separate description for each page in blogger. So this post is dedicated to blogger seo. Follow below steps to add a separate description to each and every page of your blog.

How To Add Separate Description To Every Page In Blogger?

Before we start adding a separate description to each page we have to touch robots.txt first. We have to add new robots.txt to tell robots to index all our pages except not found. So follow below steps to add new robots.txt to your blog.

Step 1: Go to Blogger Dashboard > Settings > Search preference > Crawlers and indexing and edit Custom robots.txt.

how-to-add-robots-text-in-blogger

Step 2: Copy below robots.txt and replace it with the existing text.

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /search
Allow: /

Sitemap: http://101helper.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

robots.txt for blogger

Replace http://101helper.blogspot.com with your blog url.

Above robots text tells robots to index all pages except not found pages. So static pages(contact, about, sitemap etc), posts and category pages will be indexed.

Step 3: Save changes and you are done, now follow next steps to start adding separate description to your blog pages.

Step 4: Turn on search description for each post by following this tutorial: How To Enable Search Description In Every Post In Blogger

That's it we are almost finished now you have enabled separate description for each blog post. Now its time to add description to category pages as we have told robots to index all pages so category pages will also be indexed.

Step 5: Copy below piece of code and paste it in <head> section of your template:

<b:if cond='data:blog.url == &quot;Your category url&quot;'>
<meta content='Your description or long tail keywords' name='description'/></b:if>

Step 6: Replace Your category url with the link of category for which you are adding description and Your description or long tail keywords with appropriate description or long tail keywords.

Step 7: Save template and you are done.

Explanation(Must Read):

Here I am going to explain what we actually did in above steps so it will make clear and easier for you to understand how it works and how to add separate description for categories.

The first thing we did in first three steps was telling robots to index all pages. E.g contact, about, sitemap, categories and posts pages.

In the fourth step we enabled a separate description for each post and static pages(contact, about, sitemap etc).

In step 5 we added a separate description for category. We used some code which will show that description only on the specified category. Category is specified by its url.

So now you have to add the code mentioned in step 5 for each category and make changes for it.

That's it you are 95% done one last thing which you have to do is to replace your homepage meta description tag with the below meta tag:

<b:if cond='data:blog.url == data:blog.homepageUrl'><meta content='Your Blog Description' name='description'/></b:if>

This code will limit your homepage description to only homepage because of the highlighted code.

Now you are 100% done and ready for search engines. I hope you like this tutorial.
